A mandatory rehearsal will be Friday, April 2, 2010 at 6:00 pm at the Landes Arts Center.

There will be an interview luncheon, where the contestant will showcase her Spring Mountain Festival promotion, on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at 10:00 am at the Landes Arts Center.  The choice of interview attire is up to your personal taste but keep in mind this will be the first impression the judges have of you.  After the luncheon you will be free until time to report to the center for the pageant.

The 2010 Pageant will be held on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at the Landes Arts Center in Petersburg, WV at 7:00 pm.  Contestants must be at the center no later than 6:15 pm.  Contestants will compete in street-wear and evening gown phases of the competition.  Remember you are being chosen to represent the Spring Mountain Festival so your choice of street-wear should be something appropriate for office or church.

All contestants must ride in the Spring Mountain Festival Parade which will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2010.

The Spring Mountain Festival Queen will represent the Spring Mountain Festival in the 2011 WV State Fairs and Festival Pageant in Charleston, WV in January 2011.

At the WV State Fairs and Festivals Pageant, the queen will be asked to showcase her festival by performing a 30 second event promotion.  We will be requiring our contestants to have a 30 second event promotion prepared for judging at the luncheon held on Saturday, April 3, 2010.  This is your time to be creative and a way to entice others to attend the Spring Mountain Festival.  The Top Ten Finalists in the pageant will also perform the event promotion on stage the night of the pageant.

Phases of Competition:

Interview                                             45 Point Value

Poise/Personality/Beauty                   30 Point Value

Event Promotion                                 25 Point Value

The Top Ten Finalist will perform their event promotion for the audience the night of the pageant but will not be judged.  An on-stage, impromptu question will allow the top ten finalists to earn an additional 15 points to their preliminary scores.  The contestants will be ranked for placement according to the highest score after this phase of competition.
