Registration:

Contestants
planning to participate in the Spring Mountain Festival Banjo / Fiddle
Contest must complete the
appropriate application which can be found on the Chamber of Commerce web
site (www.gowv.com)
or picked up at the Chamber of Commerce Registration Booth on the day of the
contest.

Applications and accompanying photos will be accepted at the Chamber of
Commerce Registration Booth on the day of the contest.

No alcoholic beverages are allowed
on park property. No intoxicated contestants will be permitted to
participate.

Participating in this event gives
the Grant County Chamber of Commerce permission to use your photograph for
publicity, news articles or other festival purposes, unless you specify to
the contrary.

Each division must have a
minimum of 2 registered contestants for the prizes below to be
awarded.
Program:
-
A sound system will be provided.
-
The number of tunes will be
determined at the time of the contest.

Contestants may play any tunes they
choose.
-
Contestants will be allowed up to
three backup players.
-
No electric instruments will be
allowed with the exception of a bass.
Judging:
-
All registered contestants will draw
numbers to determine who plays first, second, etc. No trading of
numbers will be allowed.

Judges will determine the outcome of
the contest based on a point system.
-
In case of a tie, a playoff will
determine the winner.
-
The judges reserve the right to call
and recall any contestant at any time during the contest.

The decisions of the judges are
final. Any questions not covered by these rules will be decided by the
judges the day of the contest.

The Committee and judges reserve the
right to disqualify or suspend any contestant who takes issue with or makes
derogatory remarks about the judges, their decisions or any other
contestant.
Prizes:
First Prize = $75
Second Prize = $50
Third Prize = $25
