Eagle's Nest Outfitters

Vacation should be a "family time."  An Eagle's Nest Outfitters vacation suits a wide range of ages, interests and levels, all in one location.  Don't send the kids off to camp - join them!

As one of the oldest outfitters in the state, we are proud of our safety record throughout our twenty years.  The 909,137 acres of the Monongahela National Forest allows us to do what no one else can.  Our miles of hiking trails and fishing streams make Eagle's Nest Outfitters a convenient base camp for your family vacation.

For our canoeing and fishing friends, our goal is a fun-filled day or two on the river.    We have nine scenic river trips and you can experience all levels of the river from easy to exciting.

We teach you fishing techniques, mark the best campsites, fishing holes, scenic areas and unique points of interest on the river.

Our fishing trips provide you with a maximum of outdoor enjoyment and minimum of hassle.  We can teach you to fly fishing or spinner rod fishing for smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, trout (rainbow, brook, brown and golden), channel catfish, eel and carp.  We teach you not only how to cast but how to catch fish!

Use us as your base camp with bathroom facilities, campfire and patio use.  Or, you can camp along the river.

We sell new and used canoes, kayaks and duckies plus life jackets, paddles, dry bags, wet suits, paddling suits and other supplies.  We also have a wide range of rods and reels, lures, bait and other tackle along with resident and nonresident licenses for three days or the year.

Kayaks are the hottest thing on the market today.  They are great for enthusiastic beginners, stable and maneuverable.  These crafts are a delightful way to paddle a river and great to fish out of.  For those of you who are afraid to paddle a kayak, because of the close enclosure of the cockpit, now you can sit on top and still enjoy the thrills of a kayak. We tailor our trips to your desires from wild adventures, ripples, rapids and foam, to gentle float trips past rocky cliffs covered with wild flowers and rhododendron.

We have over 80 miles of river to pick your trip from.  The South Branch of the Potomac River is one of the top ten paddling rivers in the United States.

We can accommodate families of two to fifty people with or without a guide.  We have also catered to large groups of scouts, church members, businesses and schools.  We also offer special rates for groups so let us know what you need.
